Scope & Goal

Research & Analysis
Our team conducted several case studies to determine the most common functions and features of HR portals. In addition, we examined other applications for inspiration on how function and user experience could be improved and performed an analysis of Deloitte’s current HR portal.

SWOT Analysis for the current Deloitte's HR Portal: To better understand how we might leverage and refine the successes of Deloitte’s current design, we analyzed the portal for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

Insights
We asked 19 Deloitte employees about their use of HR portals through interviews and a survey distributed through Google Forms. By the end of our primary research, we acquired 725 data points about what employees like, loathe, and need in their HR portal. Then, we have...

Persona
We built three personas from collected research and interview data. These personas represent different Deloitte employee archetypes, from newer hires to senior managers, and their needs and behaviors. Throughout ideation and development, Jessie, Benjamin, and Melissa helped us narrate what a new HR portal experience could be, and how it could affect people like them.

Iteration
We sketched the best ideas to show their functions. After discussing sketches, we voted to choose the ideas that best fit our design opportunities and research.

Final Concepts
Based on key research findings, we translated four user needs, Care, Productivity, Collaboration, and Team Support, into distinct concepts: Familiar Yet Different, At a Glance, On a Quest, and Team Spirit Wins.

Mid-fi Prototype & Scenario
With help from Benjamin, one of our personas, we walked Deloitte through how the streamlined content structure helps their talent complete tasks. News and Events are a new feature on the dashboard, and Benjamin can easily sign up for a conference featured on the banner.

Design System
These guidelines contain all the rules, components, and style guides followed throughout the current prototype. These guidelines will assist with actualizing the portal and understanding the process, thought, and logic behind our design decisions.

Hi-fi Prototype 🥳
Features include the reorganized content structure for a streamlined user experience, customizable dashboard with dynamic updates, and event registration. The redesigned Front Door to Talent provides personalization, human connection, and increased productivity.
Dashboard
Personalization comes to life with the new dashboard. Users are greeted by personalized every day and special occasion messages upon login. Information is shown at a glance, with dynamic updates and bookmarks of most-used functions. Add or remove cards for a truly customizable experience.

Library
The searchable all-in-one library provides easy access to all functions. When each category is selected, users will see a suggested category of related links. These are drawn from traffic data, enabling the portal to predict users' needs.
